I live in Waipukurau with my adult son Jonathan and my Siberian Husky Izzy. I graduated from Massey College of Education in 2000. I loved being a student, especially in my specialist subjects of music and children's literature. At the time, my sons were young, and family concerns took my career in a different direction from teaching. I have had a varied career as a Music Librarian for Radio NZ, Music Archivist for the Alexander Turnbull Library, and finally as a Collections Manager for Napier Libraries. In 2013 I retired from libraries and finally began my teaching career, first at Maraekakaho School and then four years at Tikokino School. I love working in country schools with country children, and I am finally doing what I have always meant to do... teach!
