Rob Pratt  (Principal and Senior Room Teacher)

I am excited to be the Principal of Kereru School, co-teaching in the senior room with Gerry. I have for the last five years been teaching at Mayfair School where I was also the Director of Sports. I came late the teaching profession, retraining through the University of Waikato in 2010. Before that I was in the NZ Police, spending the last 12 years as Youth Aid Officer in Central Hawkes Bay. Through this role, I was involved in a number of Blue Light youth activities and was involved in the set up of EPIC. These experiences lead me to teaching, and I have loved every moment of it.

I am married to Angie, who is also a teacher, and we have three children. My elsest, Lockie is studying at Victoria, Cam is an apprentice builder, and our youngest, Alanah, is in her final year of secondary school. I am a sports 'tragic' and still play rugby and toouch  for the Hawkes Bay Role Models in Educations Team. Last year (2017), I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Collaboration & Leadership through the Mindlab Unitec programme.

I am passionate about ensuring our students are provided with a variety opportunities as 21C learners and feel strongly about enhancing the unique skills and character that each and every tamariki bring to our school.
